This was an amazing year for books and there have been so many amazing books published this year that I have read and loved. Today I am so happy to share with your the 19 best books of 2019. This means that they were published in 2019 and I read them in 2019. Every single one of these books I have rated 5 stars on Goodreads and it is interesting to look back at them and see what I loved.
I won’t share too much about each book since there is 19 of them, but each of these books were mentioned during the month that I read them so I will group each one into the months and link to my best book of the month post for each month (baring this month).

Genre: Romance
Why I loved it: The characters that Hoang writes are always so interesting and romance is cute and steamy as well.
The Test by Sylvain Neuvel

Why I Loved It: This short novella packs and punch and really gets you thinking
Heroine by Mindy McGinnis

Genre: YA Contemporary
Why I Loved It: Haunting, this book shows a realistic look into when a prescription drug addiction spirals into something more
SHOUT by Laurie Halse Anderson

Genre: YA, Poetry
Why I Loved It: Painful and heartbreaking, this book shares the real story of sexual assault in a way that you won’t forget.
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid

Genre: Historical Fiction
Why I Loved It: This book, told through interviews is a fun look into the world of the music scene of the 60’s and 70’s (and not just the good things)
Keeping Lucy by T. Greenwood

Genre: Historical Fiction
Why I Loved This Book: Full of love and wonder, this book was heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time

Genre: Non-Fiction, Memoir
Why I Loved This Book: Nora isn’t scared to talk about the hard stuff, and this book is all about the hard stuff
Birthday by Meredith Russo

Genre: YA, LGBT
Why I Loved This Book: I couldn’t put this book down and was glued to the last pages as tears ran down my eyes, this book was touching and memorable
The Mighty Heart of Sunny St. James by Ashley Herring Blake

Genre: Middle Grade,
Why I Loved This Book: This book deal with some tough topics, but it is also a great book for kids and is full of real hopes and emotions
Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

Genre: Romance, LGBT
Why I Loved This Book: Why didn’t I love this book. The romance was cute, the storyline cuter, and there wasn’t a moment in this book that I didn’t enjoy
City of Girls by Elizabeth Gilbert

Genre: Historical Fiction
Why I Loved It: There is something about sisters and this book had a great sister relationship along with a great look into the 1940’s
The Quiet at the End of the World by Lauren James

Genre: YA, Science Fiction
Why I Loved This Book: There is something intriguing about the end of the world, and this book took me to a place I wasn’t expecting
The Grace Year by Kim Ligget

Genre: YA, Dystopia
Why I Loved This Book: I had no idea what to expect going into this book and it took me through so many twists and turns of horror and shock
The Girls: An All-American Town, a Predatory Doctor, and the Untold Story of the Gymnasts Who Brought Him Down by Abigail Pesta

Why I Loved It: This book was hard to read, but it was an important one to read and it gave a lot of insight of what was going on for so long
Pumpkinheads by Rainbow Rowell

Genre: YA, Graphic Novel
Why I Loved It: This book gave me the perfect cozy fall vibes and was so cute
Love Lives Here: A Story of Thriving in a Transgender Family by Amanda Jette Knox

Genre: Autobiography, LGBT
Why I Loved It: This true story captured my heart from the first page and gave me a lot to think about
The Fountains of Silence by Ruta Sepetys

Genre: YA, Historical Fiction
Why I Loved This Book: Learning about fascist Spain and about the many people who experienced the country, as well as engaging characters, and a beautiful setting

Genre: Memoir, Non-fiction. LGBT
Why I Loved It: Hauntingly beautiful and told in a very interesting way this book tracks a relationship from its bad beginning, to bad middle, and bad end
Kid Gloves: Nine Months of Careful Chaos by Lucy Knisley

Genre: Graphic Novel, Memoir
Why I Loved It: This true story involved real facts, true emotions, and a dose of reality
