2021 is just around the corner (how did that happen?) and with that comes one of my most favourite times of the year, choosing my new planner and getting it set up.
Now this year I did something I have never done before. I have bought two planners. Now this wasn’t what I was expecting to do, but there ended up being two planners that I loved.
The first planner is very similar to the one I used this year. It is only monthly spreads with some pages for notes in the back. Now I have a hope for this planner that I don’t know if it is going to work out. I would love for this planner to become my librarian work planner where I can write down my shifts, ideas for work, and more. Now as of writing this I don’t yet have a librarian job, but I have hopes that that is coming for 2021.
Since this is my secondary planner I am going to be decorating this with my excess stickers from the past. I have so many extra stickers that I don’t use and this is a great way to use some of them up.
I have started January with a blue theme and haven’t done anything other than the basic decorations since I don’t know how much I will be using it yet. If you have a separate planner that you use for work let me know how you use it as I would love some ideas!
Now on to the main planner. While I have been enjoying only having my monthly spreads I have found that I am writing a lot of to-do lists on other pieces of paper as well as I don’t always have as much room as I would like with only a monthly spread.
This planner that I got this year has both a monthly spread and then a weekly spread. What I enjoy about the weekly spread is that the week is only one side of the page and the other side of the page has a space for notes, to-dos, and goals for the week. I really like this as a way to plan for my week in other ways than normal as well as a way to keep my weekly to-do lists all in one place.
I plan to only keep major events in the monthly spread as well as my blog planner. Then the details can be in the weekly spreads.
For the first bit of the year I purchased some monthly kits to try out. I think that these stickers will work for not only the monthly page but also for many of the weekly pages with the addition of some washi and extra stickers as needed.
Now this will be an adjustment for sure as it is a change in how I have been planning, but I am excited as I always am to start a new planner, to get organized, and for everything that 2021 is bringing me.
