I love getting excited for books that are future releases. When I have a favourite author and then find out that they have a new book releasing soon I get so excited. I then immediately start checking the libraries that I am a part of to try and get on the holds list as soon as possible so I can read the book as soon as it comes out.
I also love reading about all of the books that other people are excited about so please comment below and tell me what books you are excited for this year.

One Last Stop by Casey McQuiston
I really enjoyed Red, White, and Royal Blue when I read it a few years ago and this book – featuring subways, time travel, and a cynical woman who doesn’t believe in love seems right up my alley. I have an advanced copy of this book so I am excited to read it soon before it comes out.
Estimated Published Date: June 1
The Heart Principle by Helen Hoang
Helen Hoang writes some of my favourite Romance books out there and I have been anticipating this book for what seems like forever, but the wait is almost over. This story is part of a series, but you don’t have to have read the other books first to know what is going on. Quan has shown up in the previous books, but now he has one of his own where he is staring in a love story of his own, but one that seems to be a real enemies to lovers storyline (which I really like if done well).
Estimated Published Date: August 17
The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah
Kristen Hannah has written quite a few books, many of which I haven’t read, but I have really enjoyed both The Nightengale and The Great Alone. I find that Kristen writes characters and settings really well which are things that I look for in books and can immerse myself in her stories easily. This book looks to be the story of a mother in the 1930’s fighting to make a life for her family in the harsh world of Texas and California.
Estimated Published Date: February 2
The Survivors by Jane Harper
Most of what I have read from Jane Harper takes place in the middle of Australia so seeing this much water on the front cover makes me think this book will be a bit of a departure from her previous settings, but what I think will be staying will be mysteries, action, surprises, and characters who have a lot of secrets to hide.
Estimated Published Date (Canada): February 2
This Poison Heart by Kalynn Bayron
I first learned about Kalynn Bayron last year when I read her book Cinderella is Dead, which was a fascinating take on the classic fairy tale. This book isn’t a direct fairy tale retelling, but it does include magic, secrets, powers, and telling your own story and I am very excited about it.
Estimated Published Date: July 15
The Anthropocene Reviewed by John Green
John Green has been one of my favourite authors forever. I was in high school when many of his most famous books were coming out, I started watching him on YouTube, and even met him on the book tour for The Fault in Our Stars. I have loved The Anthropocene Reviewed podcast and how it turns even the most seemingly mundane topics into an intense experience. This book expands on the podcast and I am excited to learn even more from it.
Estimated Published Date: May 18
Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune
I will continue to tell every single person that wants a book recommendation that they need to read “The House in the Cerulean Sea” so it is expected that I am over the moon excited for the authors next book to come out. This book involves a ghost who isn’t ready to cross over and the people tasked with doing it. I hope to love this book as much as the first I read as well as read some of his older works this year.
These are some of the books that I am excited to come out this year. Let me know yours in the comments below!
