30 days of yoga

Last year I tried to do yoga every day for a month, which you can read about here. This didn’t work out too well for me and it definitely didn’t happen. However this year I had a lot less to distract me from this goal so once again I set out to do yoga every … Continue reading 30 days of yoga

how i have been working out

NOTE: This blog post is being written in unprecedented times and there are a lot of messages out there about what you should or shouldn’t be doing right now. Your weight or fitness level at the end of this time doesn’t matter. I have good days and bad days and while for the most part … Continue reading how i have been working out

hoping my little plants grow – april garden update

I do not have a ton of experience with gardening, but my love of watching things grow is only growing! Last year was my real first foray into the gardening world when I got my first community garden plot (4×8) and planted it full of crops that actually grew including beans, zucchini, radishes, beets, and … Continue reading hoping my little plants grow – april garden update

make with me – DIY-ing in the bathroom

As I mentioned in my last empties post I am trying to reduce the amount of products and plastics that I am using in my life and one way to do that is by making some things myself. Some of the things I make have ingredients that came packaged but generally work out to less … Continue reading make with me – DIY-ing in the bathroom

taking time for self care

The words self care are very popular right now and have almost become something to make fun of. It has also become something that is curated for Instagram and something that is meant to take hours which I think is detrimental to actual self care. I don’t know about you but I don’t have hours … Continue reading taking time for self care

i tried to do yoga every day in march…here’s what happened

I enjoy doing yoga. As someone who has quite a sore set of shoulders and neck I enjoy spending time stretching out my body, relaxing, and taking time to be with myself and not be distracted by social media and other life worries. I decided to set myself a challenge for the month of March, … Continue reading i tried to do yoga every day in march…here’s what happened

my current skincare routine – spring 2019

I really enjoy taking care of my skin and like spending a few minutes in the bathroom at the beginning and end of every day to make that happen. Over the years I have tried a variety of products and I have just recently changed up many of the products that I am using and … Continue reading my current skincare routine – spring 2019

changing up my eating habits

This January I have made some major lifestyle changes, specifically in terms of food. Together with my husband I gave up for the month: Candy Chocolate Baked Goods Ice Cream AND Meat Now in general I eat pretty healthy. I love fruits and vegetables and my meals are mostly balanced, but I do have a … Continue reading changing up my eating habits

how I am getting back into shape

My workout routine has been… let’s say non-existent lately. Between a new home, new job, and getting into a new routine my exercise time has suffered. Earlier this year I was working out almost every single day, breaking a sweat and I was noticing changes in my body and feeling much stronger and better about … Continue reading how I am getting back into shape

my current skincare routine – cruelty free

For a long time I didn’t care much about my skincare. I washed my face in the shower with whatever was on sale at the grocery store when I needed to buy more and I tried to treat the acne that I did have with harsh OXY pads that just made my skin more oily. … Continue reading my current skincare routine – cruelty free

It's @nigelconnors birthday! I love how you make every day special and an adventure. I love the way you think and feel things and how it comes out in such care for the world, your community, and your loved ones.
Date night at the rec centre a few weeks ago. We got to paint, taste some local honey, and had a great time trying some new things
Spontaneous date nights to sit in the fall air and drink wine and eat good food, then going home to listen to the new Taylor Swift album. A great evening all around.
