make with me – DIY-ing in the bathroom

As I mentioned in my last empties post I am trying to reduce the amount of products and plastics that I am using in my life and one way to do that is by making some things myself. Some of the things I make have ingredients that came packaged but generally work out to less … Continue reading make with me – DIY-ing in the bathroom

more zero waste swaps i’ve made

Zero waste can many times be seen as overwhelming with pictures of perfect pantries and plastic free homes that make all of their own food and have lots of time that the rest of us don’t seem to have. I have found in the past year or so of working towards a more low waste … Continue reading more zero waste swaps i’ve made

how to be more eco friendly on vacation

I recently returned from a trip to Disney World and it was such a fun time. Just being able to get away from work, regular life, as well as a snowfall at home was very needed. As I have talked about on my blog before I am trying to work on switching out items in … Continue reading how to be more eco friendly on vacation

switching to reusable pads

Note: This blog post may be a little TMI. I will be talking about periods, blood, and other bodily functions. For pretty much the last year I have been thinking about my period products. Every time I needed to go out and buy more I dreaded the trip, but I was never ready to make … Continue reading switching to reusable pads

Zero waste in the workplace

I practically spend more time at work than I do at home these days and it can be a place that has a huge amount of waste. Office supplies, coffees and lunches, and a general lack of planning or caring means that lots is being wasted and a ton of stuff is being sent to … Continue reading Zero waste in the workplace

what I am no longer buying

Zero waste is a concept often thought to be super expensive and is something that has a certain privilege to it. Yes there are things that can only be found for those that are of a certain privilege; such as living nearby stores that sell items in bulk and being able to spend a little … Continue reading what I am no longer buying

transitioning to a zero waste/low-impact lifestyle

There has been a lot of changes in my life and what I have thought of the world and my place in it in my life the past few months. While I never used to think about the environment more than trying to do some recycling I didn’t think about what I used or used … Continue reading transitioning to a zero waste/low-impact lifestyle

let’s talk about straws

I love using straws, but I think the world has a problem with plastic straws and we need to give them up. There, I said it. There are a lot of reasons why I like straws including the fact that I have sensitive teeth and it just makes me happier, but I am trying my … Continue reading let’s talk about straws

It's @nigelconnors birthday! I love how you make every day special and an adventure. I love the way you think and feel things and how it comes out in such care for the world, your community, and your loved ones.
Date night at the rec centre a few weeks ago. We got to paint, taste some local honey, and had a great time trying some new things
Spontaneous date nights to sit in the fall air and drink wine and eat good food, then going home to listen to the new Taylor Swift album. A great evening all around.
